Hi,
I followed the steps described on the DataMiner Help on how to remove an agent from the DMS cluster, however this seems to not have worked.
The intention is to remove TS-DMA-SRV3 from the TS-LAB cluster:
Selected the DMA to be removed and clicked the Remove button:
Then, logged in to agent TS-DMA-SRV3, selected this agent and clicked Delete cluster:
However the agent still shows as being part of the cluster:
Tried logging off and back on again, tried with a different user and restarting the agents as well. Nothing seemed to have worked.
Note that these agents are in a failover configuration. From the TS-DMA-SRV1 side, it seems that TS-DMA-SRV3 was indeed removed, since after the fact SLDMS.txt shows:
On the TS-DMA-SRV3 side however, SLDMS.txt shows the following:
This was done on DataMiner 9.6 CU9
Am I missing any detail here?
Is there a different producedure to remove a failover pair from a cluster?
Thank you for the help.
Hi João
I encountered this issue as wel on v10.0.9. I tested several ways to remove it, but the following procedure was the easiest:
- Disable the failover
- Remove the single agent from the cluster
- Restart the removed single agent
This is to make sure that it was truly removed from the cluster - If needed, put the agents back in failover.
- Double check the failover status (System Center\Agents\Failover...\status)
I had an additional "COM error", to resolve it you need to stop both agents (verify all SL* processes are ended) and restart both agents.
Hope this helps
