In a protocol you can specify a default data page to show which works great when there is no visio file asigned to the protocol visual.
<Display defaultPage="Audio Status" pageOrder="General;Audio Status;Audio Config"
However after a Visio file is associated with the protocol when opening the element it now goes to the visual overview page when opening an element by default.
I know that I can use shape data in a service or view visual overview, ie: Page d:Audio Status so that when clicking the element it goes to the data display page of choice.
However when opening the element from the surveyor, or from a visual overview that doesn't have the Page Shape Data set the element card defaults to the visual view.
How do I make the defaultPage always the "Audio Status" data display rather than going to the Visual Overview of the element?
If you go to you user settings (click on your user icon on the top right and choose settings), then Card on the left menu, you have some options there to choose the default behavior. Here's more information on all the settings: User settings | DataMiner Docs
Thank you very much Ben,
That has worked a treat.
Thank you for reading my mind with the extended information about yes I did want this for all users not just myself so will apply the card preferences to the group.
Glad the information was useful. Note that if you apply it to a group, as explained, you still have two options. You either make it default for them, but with the option for them to still change it back to whatever they want (open lock symbol) or you make it default an impossible for them to change it (closed lock symbol).
FYI in case this is relevant – you can either leave it up to the users to choose their preferences, or you can leverage the GROUP configuration to have some default behavior / preferences for a specific group of users. Typically if you configure for a GROUP you will have the option also to either have a setting as default for them (but they can still change it if they want), or you can lock it to a specific setting (and they cannot change it). There is a broad set op options available, including even a complete default layout of the entire Alarm Console at the bottom, should you want to align that with your work flows and ways of working. https://docs.dataminer.services/user-guide/Advanced_Functionality/Security/Basic_security_configuration/Configuring_a_set_of_user_group_settings.html?q=configuregroup
