We're building a Visio drawing as an overview to represent a network at a specific site, where all external connections between edge devices and switches are automatically drawn based on DCF. The visio only contains a shape for the spine and leaf switches, one for the edge devices, and a connectivity line shape. When applied to a view using dynamic positioning, the full network is displayed with all connections.
As SRM is also used to manage the full capacity of the network, each interface of the switch is also modeled as an SRM resource. When a booking is created that is routed through a specific interface of the switch, the interface is represented as a resource DVE included into the DMS service of the booking.
As a result, the DCF interface is moved to the resource DVE, as the resource DVE inherits the interface from the main element. However on the Visio, it causes the connection to no longer be connected to the main element on the diagram.
Is there any possibility of having the Visio still showing the connections to the main element while the DCF is actually exported to the created resource DVE?
In the Visual Overview, connections are drawn to the center of the shape except when child shapes are linked to interfaces.
From what I can understand from your question, the resource DVE acts as an interface and prevents connections to be drawn to the main shape. There is an option to disable connection lines for a certain shape, it's called 'DisableConnectivity' (see help). I believe applying this option to the shape linked to the resource DVE will resolve your problem.
