how I can get/generate a log of notifications received by Dataminer from CMTS

Hello Dataminer support,

Can you please advise on how I can get/generate a log of notifications received by Dataminer from CMTS over the course of 1 week/month to compare the load? NBN mentioned that they are using splunk as repositoty of old logs, however we will need to supply a search string to work with - as "trap" by itself may not be enough, or is it?

Hi Mert,

NBN is using the Arris E6000 driver for their CMTSs.

In the CMTSs elements in DataMiner you have a page called Alarms & Notifications, which shows two tables (Notifications table and Alarms Table). Each table has a notification/alarm counter:

You can created a trend template that will store this information in the database. Over the course of a week/month you will have the corresponding records.

You will be able to create reports with this information as well and do all the analysis intended.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you need further clarification.

Hello Joao,

Thanks for the update.

Your recommendation is to create a new template that will store new information on the database. How about historical data that was stored at splunk? How can we check the total number of notification (historical data stored at splunk) that was received by the Dataminer from the CMTS?
