Here my feed back after having changed the cards of 2 DMA systems:

For the first, no reboot was necessary (good).

For the second, I needed to reboot (bad): There was some "Thread error", but that was maybe an old error blocking the credentials update. After restart of DMA, it was fine and the new SIM card was accepted.
