Failover Agent with DataMiner Id -1

Hi,

We are trying to bring up a DMA pair, however, we are unable to bring the standby online. The Online one says that the DMA id for the standby is "-1". We've checked the DataMiner.xml file to verify this and they both have the same DMA id "42009". Any pointers as to where to look to get the standby agent up?

Hi Carlos,

Sounds like something is wrong on the standby agent (it's not correctly reporting its ID)

Some ideas of things to check on the standby agent:

  • Verify that DataMiner.xml on the standby agent has a single and correctly formatted/cased <DataMiner id="42009" ...> attribute
  • Restart the standby agent (to have clean logging)
  • Check the SLNet.txt and verify that the correct ID is listed ("DataMiner.Initialize|ID = 42009" and "DataMiner..ctor|ID = 42009")
  • Check for errors in SLErrors.txt or SLDataMiner.txt. Verify that the standby agent can start up.
