Export dmimport, how to choose the target agent

Solved40 views16 hours agoagent elements export Export/Import migrate

Dear Dojo,

I should export some elements from a DMS to another using Export/Import action, using dmimport file.

Using that when I import, I don't have the choice  of the target agent, the import is done automatically by default on the first agent of the cluster.

Do you know how can I have the hand to choose the good target agent ?

If not, how can I easily migrate an element from agent to another on the same DMS ?

Thanks for you help.

Hi Simon,

When you import elements, they will be created on the Data Miner agent to which you are connected.

This means that one way to choose where the import happens is by changing the IP or hostname you use when connecting to your cluster.

An alternative and easier approach to move elements in a cluster is to use the build in migrate functionality. You can access this through:

In System Center navigate to => agents, and select the status tab.
At the bottom, you'll find the migrate button (if you have more than 1 agent in the cluster).
