Exclude Element Option on Service Templates

When creating/applying a new Service Template, is there a way to make adding an element optional?

In this case, we have one service that uses the exact same elements as the other services applied, minus one element.

Is there a way we can exclude that one element for that one service but keep the service on the same template?

Hi Dino,

Yes I believe we can solve this by choosing a “Templated element” instead of a “Fixed element” when specifying the included element in the service template:

When selecting a Templated element you can define the service child to be “optional” as highlighted in yellow in the above screenshot.

Additionally you can also define an input data field and assign this input data field as placeholder into the Name mask part of the editor. This way, you can dynamically pass on the elementname of the element you want to be included in the service when applying the service template. As such you are not limited to making a fixed definition (all services include the same element) but can choose at runtime (when applying the service template) which exact element will be included into the service.

Feel free to play around with that setting and come back if you have more questions around this topic.
