Hi, I have recently migrated most of our elements from one DMA to another. However, one element did not transfer properly and is still showing on the Old DMA when I go through the "Migrate" process (System centre > Agents > Status > Migrate), but in Dataminer it is not available in the surveyor. It does come up on the drop-down search list in Cube (2 entries) but neither will direct you to the element.
Also, I cannot create a replacement element with the same name until this old one is deleted.
I suspect the answer lies in deleting it from the DMAs themselves but my knowledge of this process limited.
Hi Jamie. So the element doesn't show up on the element list on cube but if you search for the name it shows up on the search box, right? Most likely the folder of the element is still part of the server so it's being indexed but because of the failed migration the configuration file isn't in the system so that's why you can't open the element. The fix should be to delete the element folder from the server. This will be located C:\Skyline DataMiner\Elements\[ELEMENT_NAME]. You should stop the DMA first, delete the folder, and then start the DMA. Once that DMA is up you'll be able to create a new element with the same name.
Thanks Luis, sorry for the late reply. That worked just great. I’ve had a few instances of this now and I’ve been able to clear the issues.
