DIS – ProtocolEditorPackage not loaded

Hi Dojo Community,

My DIS was working fine until yesterday.

Now, when I start Visual Studio 2022, I get the message "The 'ProtocolEditorPackage' package was not loaded correctly. This problem may have been caused by a configuration change or the installation of another extension. For more information, check the file "C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\VisualStudio\17.0......\ActivityLog.xml"."

In this XML file, I see "SetSite failed for package [ProtocolEditorPackage](null)".

I've already updated Visual Studio to the latest version and uninstalled and reinstalled DIS, but it didn't help.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem?

Hi Felix,

Could you provide the following info to support.data-acquisition@skyline.be:

  • The full activity log file
  • Info about you Visual Studio instance: Open VS and navigate to Help > About Microsoft Visual Studio. This opens a popup window displaying information about your Visual Studio instance. Click the Copy Info button and save this info in a file.

Since you mention that DIS was working fine until yesterday, it might be that it automatically updated to the newly released version. Can you try installing the previous version of DIS to verify whether that version works and let us know the result? The previous version can be download via this link: DIS 3.1.18.

Hi Pedro,

I sent the logs to the support team.
It looks like it works fine again after uninstalling 3.1.19 and installing 3.1.18.

With the help of Pedro we found out that the VS Version was the issue.
After this issue appeared I updated Visual Studio.
Unfortunately, I did not check after updating if another update is available.
Now I'm on VS 17.14.26 and DIS 3.1.19 works fine.
