DataMiner Cube Versions

We are currently running DataMiner 10.1 and our IT Department packages the DataMiner Cube MSI to be able to install it on PCs through our software management system.

Will the DataMiner Cube which comes with 10.1 be capable of updating, or is the new “auto-update” functionality described by Ben Vandenberghe (yesterday at Inspire) in a new version of Cube in 10.2?

Is the latest DataMiner Cube still compatible with DMAs running 9.6?

Hi Alex,

The independent client update functionality that Ben highlighted on the Inspire 2022 event was introduced in 10.2.0 CU3 main release and 10.2.6 feature release (see RN33360).

When you have a DataMiner agent running version 10.2.0 it will come out of the box with a 10.2.0 Cube client version. If all conditions(*) are met, the users connecting to this DMA will be updated to a 10.2.6 Cube and in the coming weeks to a 10.2.7 Cube. Every month they will receive the latest Cube update with fixes and new features. If certain new features depend on server functionality, those will not be available.

This update functionality is not available for 10.1 or older. For these versions we only guarantee client-server compatibility for the versions found within the same upgrade package.

(*) The users need internet connectivity in order to be able to download updates from dataminer.services, and the DMA must be configured to allow client updates (this is the default).
