Hello everyone, I’m exploring the possibility of connecting Teams to DataMiner so I can control some alarms. My idea is to have certain statuses and alarms sent as notifications to Teams groups. I installed the “DataMiner Chat Integration Example” add‑on, but I can’t get it to connect or work.
Does anyone know if this extension actually works, or if there’s a better way to integrate what I’m trying to achieve?
Thanks!
Hi Ruben,
Yes the example will work if you meet all the prerequisites.
See the Server-side prerequisites: Chat integration with Microsoft Teams | DataMiner Docs
See the Microsoft Teams prerequisites: Chat integration with Microsoft Teams | DataMiner Docs
-> The import part here is granting admin consent so that the DataMiner Teams app can send messages in your Teams environment. See Granting admin consent for Teams Chat Integration | DataMiner Docs
You should be able to see this in the Admin app when it's configured successfully:

In Teams you can install the DataMiner app and ask, by example, for alarms to verify it can connect in both directions (DM Teams App -> DMS , while Chat Integration is: DMS -> DM Teams App). See DataMiner Teams bot installation: DataMiner Teams bot | DataMiner Docs.
Let us know if and where you get stuck, and we'll help you to get it up and running.
Wkr, Jordy
