Correlation Rule – Can we detect a new DVE?

Can we trigger a workflow based on a new DVE addition to the system, using correlation rules?

We are able to trigger based on an element deletion using the following ‘Information Event’, though there seems to be no similar message when a new element connection is added.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Diogo,

Indeed, when adding a new DVE I was not able to detect an information event that indicates that that DVE was added. I believe in this case a possible option is to update the connector, e.g. generate an information event when a new DVE is created. This information event will help you to trigger your correlation rule.

Hope it helps.

Hi Miguel,
We thought about using information events so we could trigger this workflow in a generic way, without doing any changes on the supported connectors.
But I see that maybe we cannot avoid it..
Can you think of some other option?

Many thanks.

Hi Diogo,
A possible workaround (which is not ideal) is to generate an alarm in the DVE recently created so you can trigger your correlation rule. In your correlation rule you could then change the alarm template (assigned to the DVE) to a different one so the DVE no longer generates this alarm.
Hope it helps.
