Correlation connectivity vs. DCF connectivity

What is the difference between the connectivity chains defined in the Connectivity Editor of the Correlation module (only for RCA?), and the connectivity info in an element's properties (DCF.)
Are these two independent sets of connectivity information, used for different purposes? No need for consistency between them?

Hi Jorge,

You are correct, the connectivity chains defined in the correlation module are only used to calculate the RCA levels for the alarms.
The RCA level shown in the alarms will indicate the distance from the most probable root cause alarm within the chain.

The DCF (DataMiner Connectivity Framework) is used to indicate physical connectivity between various elements (e.g. physical cabling) and physical connectivity within elements (e.g. a crosspoint connecting an input to an output).

DCF can be used for example to dynamically visualize connectivity in visual overviews, to allow DataMiner to choose or suggest a possible signal route when orchestrating a service, or to visualize a topology in the node-edge component in dashboards.
