Hi Dojo,
Recently there has been a scenario where iDirect NMS has been migrated to a distributed NMS which contains 3 servers (images below).
The current iDirect Platform driver in use is Production 10.0.0.101. Is there any newer driver versions to support this ? Thanks in advance.
Hi Arunkrishna, This kind of deployment should be supported already in both driver ranges 10.0.0 as well as 10.0.1.
I've included a screenshot below taken from a standard iDirect Evolution deployment where we use the iDirect Platform driver range 10.0.1 from where both databases are hosted on one single server:
Basically, each row in this table is identifying a separate DB connection which may or may not be hosted on the same server. When hosted on separate DB servers, you simply indicate a different DB Server IP address. The DB Type column indicates what type of Database it is and the DB Hub id column is used to indicate which connections belong to the same iDirect Evolution system.
In driver range 10.0.0 this can be entered as separate standalone parameters where we by maximum support an iDirect Evolution system spread over 3 databases. (as indicated in your system overview screenshot)
Hi Jeroen,
So I guess will work the same for this driver version 10.0.0.101? Only the DB names are different?
Hi Steve, that’s right. In this range we are referring to the Event Message Database separately while in fact its also part of the archive database.
In large Evolution system deployments, iDirect chooses to split up their Archive database over 2 separate database servers. Where each archive database server is populating a portion of the archive database tables.
