A User is setting up configurations to send outgoing email from a 1+1 Failover system. It is clear the SMTP settings need to be configured on both the DMAs and accessibility with the SMTP server be established.

The user wishes to know if the VIP address also needs to be reachable to/from the SMTP server? The DMA servers' IP addresses and VIP address belongs to a different subnet than the SMTP server. Hence, this query to ensure all firewall rules and routing is configured properly.
