Changing the Element ID within a DELT Package Prior to Import

Hello All,

Due to particular circumstances and the methods used to create original elements, we are faced with a scenario where DELT exports of multiple elements from different DMSs have identical DMA/Element IDs.
When attempting to import them into a consolidated DMS, we are presented with a notice that the Element ID already matches an element in the system - which is true.

Beyond creating a new element on the original system (that will ensure a new unique ID is assigned) and exporting a new DELT package, is there a way to manually change the ID of an element in the DELT package prior to import?

Thank you,

Hi Thomas,

Although it appears technically possible to update the content and change the ID, I strongly recommend against doing so manually. Given the number of files that would need to be updated, the process is highly error-prone.

Hope it helps.

Thank you Miguel. I suspected the ID would appear in many places within the export making this a less viable approach, but great to get confirmation!
Thanks!
