Hi all,
We have a DMA with massive amount of data at Cassandra (from trending). Due to this, we are suffering some problems when a backup is done.
Do you know if Cassandra Cleaner tool is the safest way to delete some old data from here?
Please note that only data from that DMA should be removed as it is part of a cluster and we don't want to use "time to live" options as we will delete data from all DMAs
Thanks!
Pedro
Hi Pedro,
The Cassandra cleaner will not remove trend data, it will only clean up historical alarm data.
This means that running the tool will not help in this case.
I'm not aware of any alternatives except for manual intervention through queries
(which should only be done by a subject matter expert, ideally from Skyline, as incorrect queries can lead to data loss or system malfunctions).
Thank you, Ive! we will ask for some help then 😉
