We can see that an enormous amount of information events are being generated for our development/testing systems for not all of them we have control (e.g. during install of the packages that update automation scripts). Is there an option to just disable information events from being stored in DataBase/StaaS (they are only sent to the client if subscribed)?
Hi Michiel,
It has never been the intension to create enormous amounts of information events. You can look at information events as some sort of audit trail records and they are in place to make the important activities transparent and traceable. The docs page shared by Louis can help you to reduce the number of information events to a minimum.
Note that we are making changes in that aspect if we see that we've been to generous with a certain type of information event (we've done so in 10.4.12, 10.5.2 & 10.5.4).
Feel free to get in touch if you want to question the value of certain types of information events that are still being generated to generously.
Thanks for the information. Every effort to reduce the number of information events to keep only the important ones is really appreciated. However, might still be useful to disable them for systems where you want to reduce costs or to disable them temporarily. I created a feature suggestion: https://community.dataminer.services/new-feature-suggestions/option-to-disable-information-events-and-or-alarms-being-pushed-to-database/
