Hi Dojo,

can you think of a way to implement a button on a visual overview, which (when pressed) sets all active alarms in the alarm console as read?

We are aware that pressing CTRL+A when being in the alarm console should lead to the same result, but we are asking for operational reasons…

Thank you!

In theory, this would be possible using an Execute shape, executing a script and setting the read status in that particular user’s user settings.

However that would be very difficult and I would strongly discourage it.

It requires tampering with specific user setting files and a deep knowledge on how these are configured. It opens you up to breaking the entire settings for a user or even a group. On top of that it can break extremely easily as we guarantee no backwards compatibility for doing direct message calls to the server that you construct yourself.

Hi Toon,
thanks for your "discouraging" feedback. 😉
But seriously, thank you for the background information concerning such an implementation – definitly sounds like a good idea to look for alternatives (such as different workflows and encouraging change of habits, for example).
