Good afternoon everyone!
I’m looking for recommendations on the best way to handle flapping alarms within an Alarm Template.
Here’s the scenario:
I have an alarm that triggers when polling to a database fails. Normally, the parameter transitions from Busy → Done when everything is working. However, when it enters a Failed state, it doesn’t stay there—it quickly goes back to Busy because the system retries. This creates a loop where the state alternates between Busy and Failed continuously.
I’ve attached a screenshot to illustrate the behavior. You’ll notice that the transitions between Failed and Done are also inconsistent in timing.

You would probably want a Hyst Off of x seconds on Failed state. In that case, it if ever goes to Failed, it would go into alarm immediately. If it then drops to Busy, it would keep the alarm for x seconds at least. After x seconds the alarm would clear if it is not longer Failed at that point.
