Hello,

Is there a way to replay all the events that lead to an alarm on DataMiner ?

Just like watching a DataMiner UI video of the event to have a better understanding of the issue.

Thank you

Alexis

Great point Alexis. And it depends on what you mean exactly, because these things can be quite a bit more complex as compared to how it sounds initially.

Firstly, note that we have a feature in the Alarm Console in the Active Alarm list to go back in time. It shows the Active Alarm list the way it looked like at that point in time.  And note that this is fundamentally different as compared to pulling a list of historical alarms for a specific time window (the typical history alarm tab).

We used to have a feature to show also the Visual Overview UI at a specific point in time.  But that was taken out again, because it was rather complex in terms of underlying queries and did not perform very well (probably also due to the underlying SQL storage back then and maybe some of the current data storage evolutions might make this easier).

A replay is of course one step up.  Because that involves defining the state at a specific point in time, and to move it forward for each subsequent x seconds.  And this is something that can be done from an alarm status point of view, but also from a metric value perspective (the performance time traces that we have).

So in short, we do not have exactly what you refer to.  We do have that capability in the Active Alarm list that I referred to.  And we did look into that topic in the past, it is not off the table but then again it is currently also not on the roadmap.
