Alarm based on two parameters

Hi Community,

I have an element that has 2 params: "Eth1 Status" and "Eth2 Status".

I want a Warning severity alarm if either Eth1 or Eth2 Status is down; and a Critical severity alarm when both Eth1 and Eth2 are down.

This will also be presented on a Visio shape for the end user. i.e. the shape is Green when both Eth1 and Eth2 are ok. Blue (Warning) when one of the connections is down. Red (Critical) when both are down.

Can you please advise how this can be achieved?

Thanks,

Trong.

Hi,

To the best of my knowledge, there isn’t a direct way to define a condition involving two parameters of an element. One possible workaround would be to use correlation rules to trigger the appropriate alarms based on the specific conditions you're aiming to monitor.

However, I'm not familiar enough with Visio's to know if such correlation alarms can be included in the Visio. I unfortunately fear that that's not the case.

I hope this helped, or gave you an idea for a possible work-around.

Kind regards,
