A user has posed the following question: Does the various SL processes have the potential to utilize 100% of either CPU or Memory on a server and therefore impact other services (DataMiner/non-DataMiner)?
Does DataMiner implement any mechanism to cap CPU or Memory utilization (e.g.: CPU Affinity)?
The end goal is to ensure that one process does not have the ability to impact other processes (DataMiner/non-DataMiner).
DataMiner does not limit CPU or memory usage for any particular process.
I know of an application called Process Lasso that is capable of enforcing those things on other application.
I have not tried it myself, so I'm not aware if it is safe to use.
Note that Skyline does not provide support for issues caused due to interference of third-party software: https://docs.dataminer.services/dataminer-overview/Support%20Services/Support_services_agreement.html#exclusions
Hi Thomas, this additional information is much appreciated.
Thank you Jens for the clarification.
