Visio – Execute with wildcards will not work

Hello,

I’m working on a Visio shape that will set a parameter in a table. The set will only work if I use hardcoded values of the display key (except for the placeholder):

However, when using a wildcard so that the “5” can be any other number, it stops working. This is the value being used in the shape data:

Set|336/274|9003:STAM-EXSVR*- West/TX [property:TXNumber]|True

As the plan is to use this visio in a service template, it has be flexible enough to replace the number next to the EXSVR:

I checked and there is only one instance for each TXNumber, so the wildcard is not going to match multiple rows.

Is there any setting that I’m missing or is the wildcard not supported under this context?

Hi Sebastian,

This question has already been asked and unfortunately there is no easy solution for this (original question).
