Failover Config in DM10: Main in one site, Stand-by in another site?

Hi Dojo,

I understand that as part of the new features that have been added in DM10 there is no longer the requirement to have a Virtual IP to manage a failover config:

https://community.dataminer.services/dataminer-10-2-is-coming-and-9-6-is-going-into-limited-support/?hilite=%27dataminer%27%2C%2710%27

Would that make it possible to have a MAIN DMA in Site A (e.g. local IP 10.11.20.13) and its twin STAND-BY DMA in Site B (e.g.  local IP 10.12.20.13)?

In this example I’m using two different /16 – though this is completely arbitrary – at present I wouldn’t know if that would be the case across site A and site B.

Thanks

Alberto, that is correct. There is a new capability using the hostname rather than the virtual IP address in the configuration. Please see the attached screenshot.

Also release notes link DataMiner v10.2.0 Release Notes – DataMiner Dojo provides more details, look for the section ‘DMS RN 16Failover without virtual IP address’.
