Good Morning,
We have just deleted all device from our Dataminer test instance and we would like to add 2 new devices. I used the device discovery and discovery profile "HTTPS_GET - Meinberg":
After pressing "Discover", the 2 devices are found, but the "CI Type" is "Unknown" and it's not possible to add them (Provision):
When I check the response for one of those units I can see that the model and other information were successfully retrieved:
We need this for a demo for an US customer on Thursday.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Best regards,
Manuel
Hi, you probably have "CI Type" = Unknown, because
- the discovery operation for the CI Type is disabled, or
- no CI Types exist on the system, or
- the discovery identifiers for the CI Type are not correct
I'm afraid, I don't know the exact UI of the Meinberg application, but you can try the following to resolve the above
- the discovery operation for the CI Type is disabled --> you can enable Discovery for the CI Types for the CI type via DataMiner IDP in the tab Processes > Activities (or Processes > Automation prior to IDP 1.1.16).
- no CI Types exist on the system --> Run the setup wizard again to have the CI Types on the system
- the discovery identifiers for the CI Type are not correct --> Compare the discovery identifiers of the CI type (via DataMiner IDP in the tab Admin > CI Types > Discovery) with the retrieved information from the device.
The CI type wasn’t supported in the Meinberg Element Manager solution.
Fix was to duplicate and adjust a similar CI type and configuring its process automation settings.
When all of the above were configured, the new device was able to be discovered and provisioned.
