Does my DMP have to be run under the same version as my DMA ?
Hi Alexis, depends on your full setup and what's the relation between the 2 (DMP-DMA).
DMP's are typically installed at remote sites. Additionally, in many cases it's also preferred to have a main DMA to act as a central point to monitor & control your full network. This can be accomplished by replicating the elements running on the DMP towards the main DMA. In this use case it's important that the DMPs are running the same DataMiner version as the main DMA.
Its indeed considered to be a best practice approach to keep your DMP's running on the same DataMiner SW version as your main DMA whenever you are making use of the element replication features or add the DMP to the main DMA as a remote agent. This ensures compatibility between the 2 regarding this specific functionality and keeps you happy DataMining.
