I am currently testing if it is possible to create reports from the new dashboard module using DMA version 10.0.7.0-9247. Checking the scheduler, it is possible to select a dashboard component:
The dashboard selected contains two feeds:
- The first feed is used to select an element that will be used by other dashboard components to display KPIs from single parameters
- The second feed is used to select the index (display key) of a table. This feed is used to display KPIs from column parameters
The first feed (element selection) is available in the screenshot above. However, the second feed is not available. Is this expected behavior? When generating the report, the second feed is not set. As a result, the dashboards components that depends on this second feed don’t display any value.
PDF generation for dashboards in still under softlaunch because it has some open issues, both on the pdf generation itself and on the configuration in Cube (where the UI is indeed (in a first version) recycled from the old reporter configuration). Configuration in Cube is possible without the softlaunch option as you will have noticed. We didn’t expect that the issues would take so long and skipped the check of the softlaunch flag in Cube. The plan for the way forward is shared in the comments below.
Here is the plan for the way forward:
Mail report configuration for the new dashboards will be moved to the web environment. From Cube (e.g. script, correlation rule, task) you will still be able to configure your mail report, but it will be displayed in an embedded browser. In there the dashboards application will display the dashboard in a ‘config’ mode in which only the feeds will be displayed. The selections you make in there will be stored afterwards (in the script/rule/task), so it can be used by the backend to generate the mail report at any time.
