Hi everyone,
I'm deploying a self-managed DataMiner Agent in an offline
(air-gapped) environment, so I need a file-based offline demo
license.
What I've done:
1. Generated Request.lic in C:\Skyline DataMiner\ on the DMA.
2. Emailed dataminer.licensing@skyline.be — no response.
3. A DataMiner.lic file I have appears invalid (wrong file).
Questions:
- What is the current correct process to obtain an offline demo
license?
- Is there a self-service portal or a faster channel I should use?
Details:
- DataMiner version:10.6.0.0-16985
Thanks in advance for any help!
Hi John,
It looks like you are on the right track.
For offline (air-gapped) environments, the process is still to generate the Request.lic file on the DataMiner Agent and provide it to Skyline so that a corresponding DataMiner.lic file can be generated.
There is currently no self-service portal for generating offline licenses. Demo and evaluation licenses need to be issued by Skyline.
If you have already sent the Request.lic file to dataminer.licensing@skyline.be and have not received a response, I would recommend:
- Following up on the original email.
- Contacting your Skyline account manager or sales representative.
- If you have a support contract, opening a support ticket and referencing the licensing request.
Also note that the DataMiner.lic file is tied to the specific Request.lic that was generated on the server. A license file generated for a different machine or request will be considered invalid.
Hopefully someone from Skyline Licensing can also provide an update on the current turnaround time and the status of your request.
Regards,
Hi John, the licensing team will reach out to you soon. Please note that support is available only on weekdays during business hours, which is why no response was provided over the weekend. Thank you for your understanding.
