Hi All.
I am testing the Generic Unsolicited Message Processor with a BridgeTech VB330 probe and I'm trying to understand whether this is an expected behavior or if I'm missing some configuration.
Current setup:
- DataMiner 10.5.0 CU 13
- Generic Unsolicited Message Processor (PoC)
- RulesDemo.json successfully loaded
- SNMP policies are visible in the protocol
- SLSNMPManager logging level set to Log Everything
What I have verified:
- Wireshark confirms that the VB330 sends SNMP traps to the DataMiner server.
- SLSNMPManager receives and distributes SNMP traps from other devices correctly.
- SLSNMPManager also receives traps from another BridgeTech device.
- The VB330 sends SNMPv1 Enterprise Specific traps (Enterprise OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.24562).
- However, the Generic Unsolicited Message Processor does not create any events for these traps.
My questions are:
- Does the Generic Unsolicited Message Processor fully support SNMPv1 Enterprise Specific traps, or only SNMPv2/v3 notifications?
- Has anyone successfully integrated a BridgeTech VB330 with the Generic Unsolicited Message Processor?
- Does the provided RulesDemo.json contain generic SNMP examples only, or should custom rules always be created for vendor-specific traps?
- Is there any way to trace which rule is evaluated (or why no rule matches an incoming trap)?
Any suggestions or examples would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Jarek
