Hi, on DataMiner 10.3 it is sometimes observed that when an attempt is made to install a HF or upgrade, the action fails with 'An upgrade is already in progress'. This post (An upgrade is already in progress - DataMiner Dojo) suggests to rename the "C:\Skyline DataMiner\Upgrades\Packages" but the approach seems a little heavy-handed:
- What exactly is causing DataMiner to think that an upgrade is still ongoing when there is not? e.g.: is there a flag that DataMiner checks?
- Is there a more precise adjustment we can make to correct the DataMiner's misunderstanding that an upgrade is still ongoing?
Hi Bing,
This can happen when sometimes the agents stop checking each other because the upgrade took to long. The progress.log file is not fisnished correctly. The system will check these folders to see if the upgrade is still busy or not.
By renaming the older folders you make sure it's not checked if an upgrade is still in progress. This action, to rename a folder, should only be done if you're 100% sure that the previous upgrade was finished or aborted correctly.
At this moment we don't have any other way to correct this behavior.
Kind regards,
Thibault
