Hi DoJo,
Is there any configuration setting where we can change the subject of the emails sent for a subscribed question?
The emails I receive have the subject like "New answer posted by (...)" or "An answer is edited by (...)".
I would rather have the email subject equal the question subject, because my mailbox groups emails by subject and, as it is now, one can easily see who is answering the questions but struggle to find the answers for a specific question.
Hi Alex,
As far as I'm aware this is not possible to configure as a user. I'll check to see if there are any improvements planned around this.
Hi Alex,
I did some tests on our development site, where I made sure all the notification emails have the same title. Unfortunately, the emails I received in Outlook are still not grouped if the subject is the same. Apparently, Outlook also needs a Conversation ID and a Thread-Index to be the same. We cannot configure these headers from within Community. More information can be found here: https://superuser.com/questions/1351430/what-does-outlook-need-to-recognize-a-thread
Thank you for your tests and answer.
Please consider that:
1. Not everyone is using (only) outlook. I am also using the mail app from Google and the answers are grouped by subject.
2. We still can ‘manually’ sort the emails by subject in outlook.
So, having the question title in the email subject will help a lot to follow the answers associated.
Hi Simon.
Thanks for the answer.
I just added a Feature Suggestion about this topic: https://community.dataminer.services/new-feature-suggestions/change-the-subject-of-the-email-sent-for-a-subscribed-question/
