The DataMiner documentation is continuously growing and improving. That’s why from time to time we like to provide you with a summary of all things new in the DataMiner Docs.
Here’s a quick overview of the changes we’ve done to the documentation for DataMiner 10.5.4:
- Multiple exciting changes have been made to the DataMiner Dashboards and Low-Code Apps modules:
- The maps component, previously available as a soft-launch feature, is now officially released. To mark the occasion, it has also received a brand-new visualization icon.
- Working with operators in GQI queries is now more flexible. You can add new operators at any position using the new “+” button and rearrange operators by dragging them to a different position on the same level.
- When you select an item in a grid, maps, or timeline component, it will now by default be highlighted in blue. This makes it easier to identify the selected item. For instance, if you use markers in a maps component to display additional information in a table, the selected marker will be highlighted to clarify which marker the information refers to.
- You can now define data input for a low-code app using the app URL. This allows you to open the app and immediately display specific data.
- In the Template Editor, you can now reuse templates across different components within the same low-code app or dashboard. The Browse templates pop-up window provides an overview of all available templates along with a preview of how the component would appear if the template were applied.
- When you right-click a grid component, you can now access and use the browser’s context menu.
- The default Skyline themes have been given a new look, and the default data colors have been updated from various shades of blue to a more diverse color palette.

- Relational anomaly detection (RAD) has received several enhancements, including the option to specify the minimum duration that deviating behavior must persist before it is considered a significant anomaly.
- The Automation script for migrating existing data to STaaS now allows you to migrate specific custom data—such as DOM, SRM, and Analytics data—separately by selecting individual storage types instead of migrating them under a single “custom data” category.
- Information events will no longer be triggered when Automation scripts are executed by the Scheduler module. If you want these events to be generated, you can add the SkipInformationEvents option to the MaintenanceSettings.xml file and set it to “false”.
- A new Run in isolation mode option allows you to isolate an individual element by starting a separate SLProtocol and SLScripting process for it. This prevents issues with one element from affecting others.
But those are not the only things we’ve changed recently!
- A beginner-friendly video has been added to the Installing the DataMiner Cube desktop application page that walks you through the installation process and provides a quick overview of the Cube user interface.
- The Swarming documentation has been updated with detailed information and new illustrations.
- A comprehensive troubleshooting procedure has been introduced to address issues related to the indexing database, featuring troubleshooting tools, diagnostic procedures, and an overview of common problems.
- Explore our new tutorials:
- Visualizing the Starlink location history in DataMiner: In this 30-minute tutorial, you will learn how to leverage the Starlink Enterprise solution to monitor and visualize both real-time data and historical location data, by means of ad hoc data sources in a DataMiner low-code app.
- Enabling Swarming: In this tutorial, you will learn how to enable Swarming in your DMS and swarm your first element.
