Sports booking integration
In a first step towards modernization, we transitioned from using date plans in Excel sheets with work orders, files, and emails for satellite and feed coordination to a sports booking application. This app stores all information about events and technical data for feeds such as satellite specifications, frequency, modulation, etc.
The second step eases the burden on operators further by allowing DataMiner to ingest these bookings, manage resources, and automatically configure them for scheduled events.
USE CASE DETAILS
The DataMiner Jobs app serves as a gateway for jobs received from an external booking application. - Feeds are pushed to the Jobs app via DataMiner web services.
- Operators can approve jobs from the Jobs app, or a job can arrive already approved, in which case a booking will be made.
The SRM Booking Manager app allows operators to manage bookings, performing operations like booking confirmations, resource and parameter changes, etc.
Operators can view the resources booked for an event in the Booking Manager app.
A custom low-code app can also be used to visualize booked resources.
A satellite feed is received where the user selects an antenna, verifies satellite specifications, and then confirms the booking in DataMiner.
