integration Use Case
Linear IP Playout Monitoring
This use case shows how you can monitor an IP-based linear playout channel with DataMiner. In this example, a fully redundant playout automation system has been deployed across two sites, and each site runs a main and guard playout server. Not only does DataMiner integrate with the playout automation and the playout servers from PixelPower, our platform also interfaces with the broadcast controller KSC Core from BFE to know about all crosspoint states in the signal chain. With that, DataMiner can identify which video server from which site (zone) is currently on air. This gives the playout team full visibility on the complete signal chain, including processing devices such as upconverters and signal analyzers (Dimetis Boss Stream Viewer) to measure the quality and bandwidth of the on-air signal, and all this on a single screen.
USE CASE DETAILS
Here is the DataMiner Visual Overview indicating which zone (site) and which server are currently on air. From here, operators can easily drill down to more details.
DataMiner checks the channel status of each server.
It also has full visibility on the playlists and the status of all assets.
It tracks the missing assets on the playout servers.
This screenshot shows a list of alarms that were generated by the PixelPower system.
KSC Core from BFE exposes all crosspoints via a simple SW-P-08 routing protocol.
