solution Use Case
hi human interface – Tech Partner Integrations
In this demo use case for IBC 2024, we demonstrate how the DataMiner Low-Code Apps module is used to integrate with the hi controller from our tech partner Broadcast Solutions.
Using the SWP-08 northbound interface, DataMiner can read labels and set crosspoints. In this example, hi controls an ST2110 environment via NMOS IS-05. If hi is managing SDI, NDI, or DANTE ecosystems, DataMiner operates in the same way.
One of the most compelling features is DataMiner’s ability to trigger snapshots on hi, A snapshot includes crosspoints and labels, and it also enables DataMiner to dynamically program the hi software and hardware panels. This ensures that the hi operator always has a pre-configured routing panel showing only the relevant sources and destinations with the right labels for the production at hand.
USE CASE DETAILS
This example shows a standard XY routing panel with filtering capabilities, displaying all sources and destinations defined in hi.
In this scenario, we've combined signal switching via hi with a software video decoder from Bridge Technologies, using their Widglets on a VB440 device.
You can also see how DataMiner goes about the start and stop of a production, programming the hi controller accordingly. When a production starts, DataMiner triggers a snapshot to connect signals to our software multiviewer, adjusts technical labels to show the labels needed for the production, and programs the hi hardware panel to display only the sources and destinations relevant to the production.
The screenshot provided illustrates the hi web user interface when no production is running, showing an empty routing panel.
Once DataMiner initiates the production, the required sources and destinations are added, labels are updated, and the hardware panel is connected to the software panel to ensure the same configuration is available on both the hi hardware panel and the software panel.
