Elasticsearch uses the dmaID to create master node names. If such an ID would be changed afterwards, what would happen to that elastic node? Would the name change too? Is it allowed to do it at all?

The DMA id is indeed used when installing Elastic trough cube to set the node name and select the master nodes. However, changing the DMA id will not affect any Elastic operations. The node name and master setting doesn't really affect anything. So, changing the DMA id has no impact on Elastic. From an Elastic point of view, this would be allowed.
