SNMP MANAGER Resend Clears

Solved330 views6th November 2024

Reopening this questions, since we didnt get new answers.

Our environment is configured to resend active alarms from time to time, all that configured in the northbound in the SNMP forwarding. Unfortunately, by some occasional network losses on the ticketing system that gets them active alarms traps for automatic ticket opening and closing.

The thing is that we would really be better off with a dataminer core method to resend cleared/normalized alarms in history in case the SNMP managers don’t receive them just like the resend option with the right mouse button on the alarm console than adding another SNMP manager.

This would be a great feature if the clear traps don’t reach the SNMP managers.

Is there a way to do so without adding any extra component to the alarm chain? Maybe something with the automation scripts or something that could be triggered by the admins or by some schedule .

If not, I would like to suggest a new feature for admins that could help them resend not only the active alarms but also choosing the specific information or alarm clear manually.

Thanks in advance.

This seems like a reasonable request to me Euler, would you mind posting it indeed as feature suggestion on DataMiner Feature Suggestions – DataMiner Dojo, so we can verify the community interest of such a feature? Thank you very much.
