Hi Dojo,
I have the following error in SLAnalytics: "Structure of configuration in event was updated, this only happens when something went wrong with configuration syncing".
- What is its meaning?
- What could be its cause, or how can I further check this?
- What is the impact on the system?
This error is logged whenever something goes wrong while syncing the SLAnalytics configuration across different agents in a cluster. This can happen after startup, or after making a change to the analytics configuration (in Cube via System Center > System Settings > Analytics Config), if something goes wrong while updating the configuration on all agents in the cluster.
Under normal circumstances, you should never have this error. It could be caused by a general configuration problem in the cluster. For instance, we recently saw this error appear on a cluster where some agents had extra analytics features turned on via soft-launch options, while others did not. It could also be an indication of a bug in SLAnalytics.
The impact on your system is likely low. SLAnalytics will synchronize as much of the configuration as it can, and use the default configuration where it cannot. The worst-case scenario is that SLAnalytics runs with the default configuration, which is likely similar to your own unless you have made significant manual changes.
That being said, if you cannot find the cause, this error could indicate a bug in SLAnalytics, and it should therefore be reported.
