Hi there,
I needed to surface an alarm to trigger some correlation i have been building, the issue is now i have surfaced that base alarm its populating 500+ when really i only want one, is there a way i can just group these base alarms on the standard alarm template? or would you recommend just trying to find another way to surface the alarm to trigger correlation?

I can provide a screenshot on Monday, to be a bit clearer, I have a parameter monitored on my alarm template for my Appear TV device. When it triggers it triggers 500+ base alarms, I only want one as it tanks the CPU on the DMA. is there a way to group these base alarms from the alarm template?

Ok thx Dan, in case a screenshot would contain confidential information, we can also follow up via a support ticket (techsupport@skyline.be).
At this point, it's not clear to me if the 500+ alarms are from other rows of a table or from the same parameter that is maybe going in&out of alarm constantly or still something else. A screenshot might clear that up.
they are from one parameter, so for example imagine if I only had that one parameter monitored on the whole template, it would still fire off this many alarms

And is it that parameter a column of a table? By default, the thresholds apply to all the rows of your table and you could indeed have multiple active alarms for one parameter.
The 500+ alarms, are they all active at the same time, so do you have 500+ extra lines in your alarm console? Or is it one alarm, one line in your alarm console that is constantly toggling?
We can also have an offline conversation to clear out the details if you want?
Hi Dan,
Thank you for your question. It's not fully clear to me if you are looking for a way to reduce the number of alarms via an alarm template you have configured or if those alarms should not impact your correlation or … Would you mind clarifying your use case a bit in more detail, maybe with one or more screenshots or a more detailed example, …
