We have had some false alarms on our PTP application and have tried everything to fix the false PTP status of “Unknown”, but the data still wasn’t getting updated from “Unknown” to “Synced with Active Preferred Grandmaster” Decided to remove the application and recreate, but having issues after the application has been generated using Automation – PTP_SetupWizard.
Followed the steps online. All devices are working and getting PTP information but in the Reporting Nodes window we are getting a status of “Synced With Other Device” Grandmaster Identity N/A for all devices….
Should have the MAC of the Grandmaster for things to work…

Any ideas? Am I missing something or missing a step?

Hi David,
In order to retrieve the Grandmaster Identity, it’s also required to have the connector Standard PTP Device. This connector is included with the PTP application package. But if the working site is on the same cluster as the one with the issues, then this might not be the problem.
However, if you need to install the Standard PTP Device again, you can do it from the Standard DataMiner PTP Device | Catalog. Make sure to set the version as the production version.
If the issue isn’t because of the missing Standard PTP Device connector, could you please click the Refresh button in the Reporting Nodes window? (See RN from PTP 1.1.3 CU3 | DataMiner Docs).
If this doesn’t help, I suggest creating a ticket with TechSupport.
