Persistent Agent on Welcome Screen

This may seem like an odd one.

I have an Agent on my Welcome Screen that I have been trying to remove, however when I delete it, the next time I launch Dataminer it re-appears on the Welcome Screen.

I've tried 'Cleanup' via the 'Settings Cog' on the Welcome Screen but that has made no difference.

Has anyone come across this?

Hi Kris,

I haven’t seen this issue before, but I expect the following steps to resolve it:

  1. On the computer where the issue occurs, navigate to:
    C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Skyline\DataMiner\DataMinerCube
(Make sure to use the username of the user experiencing the issue)
  2. Open CubeLauncherConfig.json and search for the undesired DMA.
  3. Remove the undesired DMA entry from the configuration file and save the changes.

Alternatively, you can try reinstalling DataMiner Cube.

Kind regards,

Thanks Catarina, I found the .json file and edited out the DM Agent entry, however it still appears when I re-launce cube. I happened to have the .json file open in Notepad+ and I was prompted with a message stating that there had been a change outside of the file and would I like to update, I click 'OK' and the .json was updated to add back the DM Agent that had been deleted. I assume DM Cube had done this.

IT appears that every time I launch DM Cube the Rogue DM Agent is added back to the .json file.

The rogue DM Agent still appears on the Welcome screen even though it has been removed from the 'json file. Even if, when prompted' I do not update/reload the file in Notepad+ the rogue Agent is still present upon the launching of Cube.

I then advice you to reach out to our support team, so they can further investigate this case

Thanks for the assist Catarina, I'm going to try a complete uninstall and re-install, see if that works. If not I'll reach out to our support.

RE-installing Dataminer Cube did not work at first, I still got the same DM Agents displayed on the Welcome Screen. To resolve the issue I had to un-installed Dataminer Cube and the navigate to: C:UserskpAppDataLocal there I renamed the Skyline folder 'Skyline_old" before re-installing Dataminer Cube. This succeeded in launching a clean version with no DM Agents on the Welcome Screen
