The Cube desktop application is recommended for people who really do intensive monitoring & operations work. And in general, we have a policy that the Monitoring app is limited to common tasks in the context of monitoring & control, and it will therefore not support any of the administrative capabilities (e.g. add / delete elements, create views, do alarm threshold editing, etc.).
Is there a list available of the main functionalities (high-level) of both the Monitoring App and the Cube Desktop App, so we can easily compare them?
The Monitoring app has following features:
- Surveyor
- View cards
- Alarm console
- Alarm cards
- Masking & unmasking
- Element cards
- Service cards
- Parameter sets
- Trending
- Mobile visual overview (limited functionality compared to the full Visio's in Cube)
- Redundancy groups
- Spectrum
It offers only the basic functionality of the features listed above compared to Cube. It does not have administrator features (like adding elements/services, system center, assigning visios, etc) nor advanced features (like automation, correlation, matrices, protocol apps, AI, etc).
