Hi, we have a client renewing their support contract. Following the renewal, we plan to upgrade their DMA versions from version 10.2.10 to the latest version. A key requirement for this upgrade is the migration of the Cassandra database, which is currently embedded in each agent. Ensuring data preservation is crucial, as the client prioritizes their historical data.
Furthermore, these environments run on DMA clusters with approximately five agents, each with its own integrated Cassandra. Migrating these separate databases to a single centralized database will increase the complexity of the process, and we would like to discuss the best approach for this.
hi Jardel,
Regarding the migration of the existing data that is currently stored in a Cassandra database running on each of the agents of the DMS, this can be done in a smooth manner by using the SLCCMigrator Tool. The tool runs in parallel with the normal operation of Dataminer.
Of course, the full process of upgrading the DMS and migrating the database will require a detailed plan. For example, since the running version is 10.2.10, I would first upgrade the DMAs to a more recent release, and once that is completed, proceed with the migration of the database to CassandraCluster by using the tool mentioned above.
If you need further assistance, please reach out to support@dataminer.services.
Regards,
Paulo
