Hi All,

A quick question on the DataMiner element migration tool.

Does it work on the server side or is it done client side? Just wondering as sometimes it work and sometimes it doesn't so trying to work out if it is Client side and if its due to the VPN.

Hi Ryan,

Are you referring to the feature described in this page Migrating elements in a DataMiner System | DataMiner Docs?

If so, then that is triggered by a user action but it is executed by the servers in the cluster.

You can read a bit about some of the inner workings and what data is transferred in this other question Element Migration - DataMiner Dojo

Regarding why it sometimes fails to you it could be a timing issue or another issue but without knowing details it is difficult to be sure.

Hi joao

Thanks for that, sometimes it just sits there saying migration started and info events just has partial export failed.

Sometimes it totally disappears and needs to be rebuilt on the server
