Hi all,

When trying to open an element in a cluster, an error is shown on the element page

This element is currently not active (Error)

When looking at the logs I see

Notify|ERR|0|Notify (2) IElement failed. The RPC server is unavailable. (hr = 0x800706BA)

I have looked online for this error and can see it is a network issue probably caused by a firewall but wanted to see if there was any other known causes that Skyline are aware of that cause this issue.

The link to where I found the information is here:

https://www.ionos.co.uk/digitalguide/server/configuration/the-rpc-server-is-unavailable/#:~:text=What%20does%20the%20RPC%20server%20error%20message%20mean%3F,-The%20RPC%20server&text=If%20the%20RPC%20server%20does,data%20traffic%20by%20a%20firewall.

Thanks,

Ryan

Hi Ryan,

Are you connected to another agent than the one the element is located on? You can verify where the element is located in the element list by checking the 'dataminer' column.

The error could indicate that there is no connection to that agent. In that case the element icon should also be different indicating something like that (I don't have an example available right now of how that icon looks). Feel free to post a screenshot of the element icon and element card just to verify what exactly you see.
