Hi,
A user has a machine with more than 2 screens and they are requesting to have on one of the screens a window pointing to an element visual overview (specific for this machine). Initially we tried using a visual overview but every time a new user connects they would have to drag and drop, so the preferable behaviour would be using a workspace.
In this case we don't want a workspace to be associated with a user/user group but rather by machine. We currently are trying to do this via an automation script, where I tried to send a few different messages but with no luck (might be missing some data).
Thank you in advance.
Hi Hugo,
Would it be a viable option to use the options described on this help page to open directly an element or a view or a workspace upon login?
The user could then have 2 (or more) separate windows, each with a different pre-configured set of options, and have them open upon booting/logging into the machine
Did you create the workspace on the specific machine? I guess the screen positions should have been saved and reapplied when opening the workspace.
Yes, but the user changes on that machine and they don’t want to manually change the workspace every time someone new logs in. When they login we currently trigger an automation so i was thinking of using it to set the workspace (maybe using the UpdateCubeWorkSpace but i can’t get it working) in that user session
This will work as they use a shortcut and in there we can add the ?workspace=XXXX into the shortcut properties just for that machine.
Note: This will overwrite the workspace you have defined for the user/user group configured on the settings.
