Is it possible to have a default pre-configured alarm / trend template included in a driver package installation?
Goal is to have a template with the core configurations defined in it so one only needs to assign it to an element of choice.
For example:
Microsoft Platform driver could have a predefined alarm/ trend template to monitor

  • a DataMiner agent
  • a server

Refer DataMiner Help:

Protocol package containing all files necessary to install a particular DataMiner protocol on an existing DataMiner System.

  • This type of file is created by Skyline’s System Engineering department.
  • File extension: .dmprotocol

The actual content of a protocol package differs from that of the other packages mentioned above. It contains the following items:

  • Protocol.xml
  • Default Microsoft Visio drawing (.vdx or .vsdx format)
  • Default alarm and/or trend templates
  • Additional assemblies (if needed)Protocol-specific help
