Alarm filter picking up historical alarms

Solved161 views17th April 2025alarm filter alarms

How do I get rid of the historical alarms showing in an alarm filter that is set to display only active alarms? I have tried refreshing the alarm template, but the alarms still persist. I have even performed a count to verify if the filter is working, and the count shows the expected number of alarms based on the filter. What can I do to rectify this, please?

Hi Curtis,

When you search for active alarms, you will always get the corresponding alarm tree for each active alarm because the status is open, meaning the alarm is active. Ref: Alarm Console columns | DataMiner Docs

However, if you have the history tracking setting enabled in the alarm console tab, the alarm records related to the same active alarm are grouped under one single alarm tree entry in the alarm console. Ref: Alarm Console settings - History tracking | DataMiner Docs.

Kind regards,
